Aldi has invested €15m in the scheme, which launches on the 1st of February across their stores nationwide.
The project involved construction of external prefabricated kiosks and associated site works to 72 Aldi stores. Scollard Doyle provided Cost Management services to Aldi’s Project Division Team who handled the rollout of the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in Aldi stores across the country.
The Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) requires all retailers in Ireland to provide return facilities for single use drink containers in a bid to reduce litter and encourage a circular economy.
