The final phase of The Shelbourne Hotel on Dublin’s St. Stephens Green has now been completed. This multimillion-euro refurbishment project has taken circa 4 years to complete. It is owned by Kennedy Wilson, a global real estate investment company. Scollard Doyle were Cost Consultants for the refurbishment works working closely with the Design company appointed to the job, Oliver Laws.
Keys areas of the refurbishment included the reception and entrance area, suites, bedrooms, meeting rooms and the grand staircase.
The newly refurbished reception and entrance area comprise of Connemara marble, red Jasper Quartzite and Crema Marfil flooring. New feature lighting has been fitted throughout the entrance area.
Bedrooms and suites have been refurbished to the highest standard including the 1,530-square-foot Princess Grace Suite, firmly established as the hotels most luxurious of suites. This two-bedroomed presidential suite features two marble bathrooms, a separate living room and a dining room, all beautifully decorated with tasteful furnishings and a library of books on Grace Kelly’s life.
The Adam and Deirdre suite has also been given a facelift now boasting a beautiful carefully crafted new ceiling. The suite is decorated in soft mauves and lavenders and provides an elegant five star setting for a meeting or event.
The Leech Bar and Terrace upgrades added a mezzanine bar to the courtyard and the Lord Mayor’s Lounge also benefited from a makeover along with corridors and the public areas in the hotel.
